Though New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara missed Thursday's practice due to an injury, he remains optimistic that he'll back on the field come Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.

Kamara is dealing with a right foot injury — the same foot that restricted him in practice two weeks ago. In Week 9, the team listed him as limited once. But he laced up his cleats in two other practices that week. Amid all the troubles the foot has given him, Kamara says that he still has to play.

“I’m feeling good,” Kamara said. “I’ll be all right.”

“For everybody, honestly, I’m going to tell the truth,” Kamara said, per Charean Williams of NBC Sports. “We’ve still got to play. We don’t get an automatic bye week because Drew’s not playing or because anybody’s not playing. We’ve got to play still. It is what it is. [Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill] get paid to play just like Drew gets paid to play, so they’ll be ready.”

Drew Brees is expected to sit out for the next two games, at least, after suffering a collapsed lung and a total of five fractured ribs on both sides of his body.

Saints head coach  Sean Payton has yet to announce who'll take the place of Brees. But he did note that both Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill are ready. Winston played a chunk in the second half of the Saints' ‘ 27-13 win over the San Francisco 49ers after Brees' went out. Hill, meanwhile, played seven snaps on Sunday.

Apart from Kamara, several other Saints players missed Thursday's practice: tight end Josh Hill (concussion) and running back Dwayne Washington (back).
