New Orleans Saints defensive end Camron Jordan is coming off yet another spectacular outing that earned him Pro Bowl honors for the fifth time in his career. It seems he even managed to do this while being hobbled by injury.
According to ESPN's Mike Triplett, Jordan had surgery to repair a hip injury he suffered down the final stretch of the 2019 NFL season.
New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan had surgery to repair a torn adductor muscle last month after playing through the injury late in the season, he told NFL Network on Saturday.
This feat is certainly impressive considering Jourdan still managed to register a career-high 15.5 sacks. He even had an NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his four-sack performance against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 13.
Of course, Jordan's toughness and durability should hardly come as a surprise. The veteran has been a model of health and consistency ever since he was taken with the 24th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. He still has yet to miss a game thus far in his nine-year career and currently holds the third-longest active streak in the NFL with 144 consecutive games played.
Jordan's availability is the reason why the Saints made sure to sign him to a three-year, $52.5 million contract extension that included $42 million guaranteed in order to keep him around for the long haul. His track record indicates that this is one of the safer investments a team can make for a premium pass rusher and all signs point to him being good to go by the start of the 2020 NFL season.
