New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees was poised to make history versus the Indianapolis Colts in Week 15. He had no problem fitting the billing on “Monday Night Football.”

According to ESPN's Field Yates, he has now managed to set three passing records on Monday, being most passing yards all-time, most passing touchdowns all-time and most passing yards in a single-season all-time.

The performance from Brees should come as no surprise considering how well he has played during prime time games at home or away; however, it is safe to say that this will still go down as one of his most memorable outings.

Brees' 2019 NFL season got off to a rough start after he was sidelined with a thumb injury. Fortunately, the Saints still managed to stay atop the NFC South by rallying around backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

Although it was encouraging to see New Orleans maintain their high level of play, it raised questions about whether or not Brees is still as important of a piece as perceived. He has since managed to erase any doubt by kicking things up a notch down the final stretch of the 2019 campaign.

The Saints offense is clicking on all cylinders against a Colts team that was supposed to be fighting for their playoff future. It has become evident that Brees' historic night brought up a much greater sense of urgency in Week 15.

Brees will not have any time to let up. New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady still hot on his heels for most of those records.
