New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees had himself one heck of a night on Monday.

Not only did Brees throw four touchdowns in a 34-7 win over the Indianapolis Colts to break Peyton Manning's all-time mark, but he also completed 29 of his 30 passes, breaking Philip Rivers' record for the highest single-game completion percentage in NFL history.

On Tuesday, Brees took to Instagram to thank the city of New Orleans for its support:

“I am so grateful for New Orleans and the #whodatnation,” wrote Brees. “We have shared many amazing moments together, and last night was very special. Thank you for being part of this journey. We are not done yet!”

Brees has only played in nine of the Saints' 14 games this season, as he missed some time due to a thumb injury he suffered back in Week 2.

During the time he has been on the field, Brees has thrown for 2,447 yards, 21 touchdowns and four interceptions while completing 75.8 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 115.3.

The 40-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Purdue, was originally selected by the San Diego Chargers in the second round (32nd pick overall) of the 2001 NFL Draft.

He spent the first five seasons of his career with the Chargers, making one Pro Bowl before joining the Saints in 2006. Since then, Brees has added 11 more Pro Bowl appearances, a First-Team All-Pro selection and a Super Bowl ring to his ever-growing collection of accolades.

New Orleans improved to 11-3 with its win over the Colts and will battle the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
