The New Orleans Saints have finally announced their starting quarterback for the 2021 season. It will be Jameis Winston, who beat out Taysom Hill after the two battled it out during camp and preseason. After the Saints' preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, it isn't shocking that Winston ended up winning the job.
The Saints inked Winston to a one-year deal to remain with the team after they watched Drew Brees call it a career. Moreover, Winston could be in line for anywhere up to $7 million extra with incentives.
Jameis Winston has up to $7M available via incentives this season, tied to a variety of factors including playing time, passing statistics and team success. His path to reach those various incentives became clearer today.

As Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. that mark becomes much more achievable with him being named the Saints starter for the regular season. So far, Winston has looked really good in preseason and has displayed that arm strength and his ability to heave the ball downfield, highlighted by two long touchdowns to Marquez Callaway as the Saints beat the Jaguars on Monday.
Here's the list of incentives that Winston will be gunning for in order to earn an extra $7 million, possibly.

To be fair, most of these can be obtained if Winston starts the entire season and shows the Saints that they aren't making a mistake. Through two preseason games thus far, Winston has gone a combined 16-22 with 219 yards, three scores, and one interception.
He is easily the better option than Hill, and let's see if he ends up earning those incentives tied to his contract.
