The New Orleans Saints had a tremendous season in 2018-19, even though the year did not end the way the way that the NFC South franchise would have liked. Despite encountering one of the most infamous blown calls in NFL history as a result of the team's NFC title game matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, the Saints will look pretty much the same going forward — especially on defense.
According to a Sunday evening report from Albert Breer of The MMQB, the Saints have agreed to a new three-year contract with defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, who will formally sign his deal on Monday.

Although the Saints are often lauded for the team's offensive success, thanks to the presence of quarterback Drew Brees, wide receiver Michael Thomas, and running back Alvin Kamara, among others, the Saints defense has worked just as hard under the direction of Allen. There were more than a few times throughout the 2018-19 campaign that saw the team's defensive unit step up in a big way at very pivotal times.
Despite the fact that Brees and company tend to put up tons of points on offense, Allen and his squad held the fort down when it seemed as though New Orleans had nothing left in the tank offensively. As a result, Allen has now reportedly secured a new deal.
