The New Orleans Saints made a move to bolster their defense through the 2024 campaign on Friday. New Orleans agreed to a contract extension with veteran LB Demario Davis, per Field Yates on Twitter.

Saints LB Demario Davis recently agreed to an updated contract that includes, per source: $2M in incentives in 2022-2024 ($6M max) His 2023 base salary drops from $8.5M to $8.25M, but he adds a $250K workout bonus and $1M of that salary is guaranteed No cap impact on 2022

An important(!) point of clarity: this deal is actually a 1-year extension for Davis, who is now signed through 2024. 2024, Davis can make $14M: -$10M base salary -$2M roster bonus -$2M via incentives One of the Saints' most respected players is now locked up for another year.
Demario Davis started his career in New York with the Jets. He played in New York from 2012 through the 2015 campaign before spending one season with the Browns in 2016. After returning to New York for the 2017 season, Davis joined the Saints in 2018 where he has been ever since.
The linebacker has enjoyed a solid career without question. Davis was named a First-Team All-Pro in 2019 and has become a model of consistency for the Saints' defense as well. In addition to his on-field performance, he is also an important leader for the team.
