The New Orleans Saints are the most recent victims of the outrageous penalty calls from NFL referees this season.

The Saints had a huge red-zone interception but it was called back because of a very questionable roughing-the-passer penalty. The Saints defensive end came in for the sack and hit Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill about a second after the play, and the referees decided that was good enough to throw a penalty flag.

There have been some outrageous calls this season with roughing-the-passer, taunting, holding, pass interference, and many others. This one might just be the worst of them all and it could come back to hurt the Saints season. If the Saints want a chance to make the playoffs, they're going to have to win most of their games for the next eight weeks. They are 5-3 on the season and they are only one game behind the 6-2, defending World Champions, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Players and fans around the league have not been happy this season with the way that the NFL is being refereed. A lot of fans are saying that this is the worst refereeing that the NFL has seen since they brought in the volunteer refs a few seasons ago. The Saints will look to win this game and bounce back from that blown call. They currently trail the Tennessee Titans 13-6 at halftime.
