New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has been nothing short of spectacular since his arrival to the NFL. Not only is he one of the more elusive backs in the league, but it appears his prowess as a pass-catcher is second to none.

There is no question that Kamara has become an instrumental part of this high-powered Saints offense thanks to his versatile skill set as both a runner and receiver. Pro Football Focus provided further evidence of his effectiveness out of the backfield:

Kamara has made a habit of churning out some impressive numbers throughout the first two years of his career. As a result, he has already been named a two-time Pro Bowler and second-team All-Pro.

Despite his massive success, it could be argued that he has been massively underutilized in this Saints' offense that relies on many cogs.

Kamara's moderate workload could be attributed to the fact that he split touches with running back Mark Ingram up to this point. It is no secret that Ingram has been an effective runner in his own right, however, that is set to change now that he signed with the Baltimore Ravens this offseason.

The 23-year-old could be in line for his biggest season yet as the clear-cut workhorse in New Orleans.

While his rushing numbers are set to increase, it may be difficult for Kamara to emulate the kind of success he had in the passing game in 2017.
