New Orleans Saints left tackle Terron Armstead had quite another injury-riddled 2017 season. The oft-injured offensive lineman missed six games this year as he dealt with shoulder, chest, and thigh injuries.
But apart from those, Armstead might have also been suffering from a previously unknown hip flexor injury, which he revealed in a tweet.
Season over, I can look now 🤷🏾♂️ I just wish y'all would watch the film 😂 I'm out here with my hip flexor ripped

According to Herbie Teope of The Times-Picayune, Armstead declined to go say exactly when Armstead suffered this injury, although he did say he had one among many others which kept him in pain all season. Armstead also gave reassurance that his many injuries were relatively minor knocks that should have no long-term ramifications.
“I won't go into specifics, but my hip is pretty jacked up along with some other things,” Armstead said. “But nothing I've been dealing with isn't fixable or isn't reversible, so no permanent damage.”
As for his hip injury, Armstead admits he still hasn’t seen a doctor and get his body checked out but believes it won’t eventually require offseason surgery.
“I haven't gone through my actual physical yet, but I would say no,” he said.
Armstead has missed 20 of 64 games for the Saints since becoming the full-time starter at left tackle in 2014 due to multiple injuries. He ended the 2016 season on injured reserve due to quad and knee injuries and missed the start of the 2017 season due to shoulder surgery.
However, he appears confident he can get back to 100 percent health this offseason. That seems like wishful thinking given his extensive injury history, but the Saints will likely be glad if he just gets through the offseason with no major injury concerns.
