University of Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is preparing to enter the NFL and is widely expected to be a top-five pick in this year's draft, and for good reason, and it appears he's trying to learn from New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

Tagovailoa is an incredibly skilled signal-caller who should fit very well into a modern era that includes stars such as Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson and Russell Wilson.

But not only is Tagovailoa supremely talented physically, he is also very intelligent. Not just in terms of his quarterback play, but in terms of how he learns from his peers.

That's why Tagovailoa regularly keeps in touch with his idol, Brees, and texts him all the time for advice, according to Vic Tafur of The Athletic.

Tafur added that Tagovailoa said that he tries to emulate the Saints star off of the field as much as he can, which is certainly a wise decision given how well Brees carries himself.

Tagovailoa is coming off of a junior campaign in which he was limited to nine games due to injuries, but when he was on the field, he was brilliant, throwing for 2,840 yards, 33 touchdowns and three interceptions while completing 71.4 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 206.9.

The 21-year-old initially arrived at Alabama back in 2017 and showed incredible promise, surprisingly replacing Jalen Hurts in the National Championship Game and throwing the game-winning touchdown in overtime.

Tagovailoa then took over as the full-time starter for the Crimson Tide the following year, throwing for 3,966 yards, 43 touchdowns and six picks while completing 69 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 199.4.
