The New Orleans Saints have reportedly signed former Pro Bowl wide receiver Dez Bryant to a deal, per Benjamin Allbright of Mile High Sports.

Bryant has been floating around in free agency since being let go by the Dallas Cowboys back in April. He had initially received interest from the Baltimore Ravens on a multi-year deal but he had declined to take that offer with eyes on getting a one-year deal to re-enter the free agent market next offseason.

The 30-year-old may have an opportunity in front of him to prove that he has plenty left in the tank to play at a high level while being a part of a potential Super Bowl contender. There have been many questions about his ability on the field with a notable drop off in his production as he has failed to reach 1,000 receiving yards in each of the last three seasons prior to the 2018 campaign.

Bryant had previously been one of the most productive wide receivers in the league that earned him the reputation of being one of the top players in the league. This saw him put together an impressive three-year stretch from 2012-14 where he recorded at least 88 catches, 1,200 receiving yards, and 12 touchdowns in each season. Although there is no certainty he can reach that level of performance, being paired with star quarterback Drew Brees could provide him the opportunity to showcase that he still has plenty left in the tank.

Meanwhile, the addition of Bryant brings in another proven weapon in the passing game to pair alongside star wideout Michael Thomas that could give them one of the top duos in the league that would help their push toward contending for the Super Bowl. The Saints already possess one of the most potent offenses in the league that rank second with 34.9 points per contest and 10th in passing.
