The New York Giants are signing former Pro Bowl placekicker Graham Gano to a one-year deal, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

New York had reportedly been close to finalizing a deal over the weekend, and have finally come to terms. Gano will receive $1 million guaranteed, and the deal can max out at $2.5 million, according to Rapoport.

Gano spent the last seven years of his career with the Carolina Panthers, and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2017 after leading the NFL with a 96.7 percent success rate on field goal attempts.

The 33-year-old took a step back in 2018, making just over 87 percent of his attempts. But Gano did lead the NFL with a 63-yard against (conveniently) the Giants. He did not play last season.

The Giants have struggled to get much production out of its placekickers in recent years. Aldrick Rosas made just 12 of 17 attempts last season, and he was 1-for-4 on all attempts from 40-plus yards.

Outside of his superb 2017 campaign, Gano has not offered a whole lot in the way of accuracy. He has an 82 percent career success rate, though that number climbed over 85 percent during his tenure with the Panthers.

Regardless, the Giants are hoping Gano's leg power can make him a potential weapon as the G-Men hope to make strides on the offensive side of the football this year.

New York is hoping for improvement from quarterback Daniel Jones and a young but promising receiving corps, plus a fully healthy Saquon Barkley.

Perhaps Gano can become an asset and get his career back on track in the Big Apple.
