The 2020 second round pick finally made his professional debut in Week 7 against the Buffalo Bills. He recorded four receptions and 42 yards in his first ever NFL game. Over the weeks, Mims has shown progress and development at a rapid pace. He went for three receptions and a career-best 71 yards in New York's most recent loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
Adam Gase could not help but play the “what if” game on how Mims would look if he actually had the chance to go through a full training camp and season. Mims suffered a string of hamstring injuries prior to the start of the season. A hamstring injury prior during training camp sidelined 23-year old throughout most of the pre-season.
Mims looked well on his way to returning just before the season began. However, the Jets rookie injured his hamstring again, which forced him to sit out multiple weeks.
Nonetheless, Mims would still have six weeks left to finish strong on what has been a promising start to his NFL career so far.
