What happens when an NFL official tasked to see to it that the rules and guidelines of football are put under investigation for committing a penalty against the law of the real world? We’re about to find that one out, as TMZ is reporting that NFL official Carl Johnson is being investigated by authorities after being accused of domestic abuse.

NFL line judge Carl Johnson — the former head of officiating for the league — is under investigation for an alleged pattern of domestic violence in Louisiana, though he's adamant the accusations are BS, TMZ Sports has learned.

Johnson is being accused of the said crime by a 49-year-old woman, who claims to be Johnson’s former live-in partner. She alleges Johnson of physically hurting her and in one incident ‘busted one of her breast implants.’

Johnson, who formerly served as head of officiating in the NFL from 2010 to 2012, finds himself in a murky situation regardless of whether the accusation is true or not. The NFL is still not over in dealing with Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott’s case of the same nature, so the Roger Goodell's office could have a penalty in store for Johnson.
