Jerry Rice is one of the best to ever don a San Francisco 49ers jersey and is also thought to be one of the greatest wide receivers to ever play the game. Given his connection to the Niners, he's understandably ecstatic that his team will be playing at Super Bowl LIV.
He's hyped up for the coming contest. He even quipped about suiting up and catching some footballs from Jimmy Garoppolo. The 49ers legend told The Athletic's David Lombardi about his preferred routes during the game.
I just talked to Jerry Rice, who’ll be in Miami. “I don’t know if they’ll let me on the field, though, but I’m going to try.”
Rice will run at least one pass pattern during 49ers warmups in a full suit.
“It’ll be a go pattern,” Rice said. “I like to go deep."

While his words were more of a joke, it just goes to show how much this Super Bowl means to the 49ers. They have struggled to remain competitive since 2013, and this is their first real shot at glory. The fans are hungry to see this team Kyle Shanahan built complete the job and win them the Vince Lombardi trophy.
Shanahan himself noted that fans like Flash 80 are vital to the team's success. Per Niners Nation's Kyle Posey:
“I hope our players are fired up regardless, but our fans are been unbelievable this year. I mean, just the way they’ve traveled and everything. Every game we’ve gone to, they have traveled unbelievably well. It was, the way they were in New Orleans blew our minds. It was the coolest thing ever to see the videos after the New Orleans game of our guys, of our fans, going down Bourbon Street and stuff, chanting some of our Niner chants and stuff. It was very risky of them, but also pretty cool. Our fans have been great. Everywhere we see them, they’re pumped up. When you see them pumped up, it makes us that much more excited.”
Expect Jerry Rice and the rest of 49ers nation to show up and make noise in Miami.
