It didn't look good when Jimmy Garoppolo went down in Week 2 against the Dolphins. The Patriots‘ backup QB, who has filled in admirably during Tom Brady‘s suspension, luckily only suffered a sprained AC joint in his shoulder, rather than a fracture.
Still, he was initially ruled out for New England's next game against the Texans on Thursday. Especially with the short week, Garoppolo's chances of playing appeared to be zero.
Bill Belichick isn't so sure, at least with his comments.
From Mike Petraglia of WEEI:

“Could be, sure,” Belichick said. “It would depend on the situation. It would depend on a lot of things. It’s possible. Sure.”
Belichick could very well know that Garoppolo won't play; in the NFL; not disclosing injury information is a basic practice in the NFL. It will become more clear when the Patriots list Jimmy G as either out or questionable.
It would be pretty miraculous if Garoppolo did come back. The hope initially was for him to return in time for Week 4's game against the Bills, before Tom Brady returns from his suspension in Week 5. Playing just a few days after suffering the injury? That's a whole different deal.
Belichick would surely love to have Garoppolo out there. In one and a half games played, Jimmy has completed 70 percent of his passes for 498 yards, racking up four touchdowns and no interceptions. Most teams would love to see that kind of production from their starters, let alone back-ups.
