As the NFL Draft draws closer, the Atlanta Falcons are beginning to ramp up their efforts in meeting with prospective talent, including meeting with Eastern Michigan defensive end Maxx Crosby today.
According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Crosby is currently in Atlanta to meet with the Falcons before he heads out to Buffalo to meet with the Bills. While Crosby won’t likely be going in the first, or even the second round, he’s slowly become more and more of a hot commodity across NFL teams. Noted for his exceptional pass rushing ability, Crosby played three seasons at Eastern Michigan, where he totaled 162 tackles, 41 tackles for a loss, and 20 sacks.
After finishing 7-9 in 2018, the Falcons are likely hoping that someone like Crosby can help add to their pass rushing depth, especially since the team is expecting a bigger leap from Vic Beasley after back-to-back inconsistent seasons. In a very competitive NFC South, they’ll need every bit of help they can get, so if Crosby should be there in the third round or later, he might be a perfect fit for an Atlanta team that's ready to beef up its defense in anticipation for another hopeful Super Bowl run.
