There has been plenty of speculation regarding where Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will land in the 2020 NFL Draft. Although he had been deemed as a surefire top-10 pick, it appears that may no longer be the case.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, concerns about Tagovailoa's health has caused his draft stock to trend downward:

Teams don’t want to accept the word of any doctors other than the doctors they employ, since there’s a chance those doctors will skew their assessments in the player’s favor.

“We want our doctors to look at him because our doctors have accountability to us,” one source told PFT.

Tua Tagovailoa was adamant throughout the draft process that he made a full recovery after months of rehab to repair a hip injury. Despite the concerns, he was still expected to be off the board early on given how many quarterback-hungry teams there are in the draft.

Unfortunately, Tagovailoa has not had much of an opportunity to prove that he is back to 100 percent. The restrictions placed by the NFL in response to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) have prevented teams from doing their due diligence firsthand. However, his track record with injuries could be more than enough to cause a potential slide on draft night.

If Tagovailoa is as healthy as he says he is, this could be an ideal chance for a team outside of the top-10 to capitalize. Regardless, this could very well make him one of the most high-risk, high-reward players in the draft.
