The case between Antonio Brown and his former trainer continues to unfold. After deciding to countersue his former trainer, Brown's lawyer sent a strong message about the allegations.
Before the regular season began, Brown was released by the Oakland Raiders due to a dispute with GM Mike Mayock. Following his sudden release, the New England Patriots signed the troubled wide receiver.
However, his tenure in Foxborough didn't last long with Britney Taylor, Brown's former trainer, accusing him of sexual assault. The Patriots grew tired of answering questions pertaining to the situation and chose to release Brown.
Since then, the NFL has conducted an investigation of their own to get to the bottom of the allegations. Of course, the All-Pro wide receiver has repeatedly denied every aspect of the allegations and is adamant about clearing his name.
Article Continues BelowWhile the NFL has spoken to both sides, Brown and his lawyer have recently decided to countersue Taylor for extortion. The free-agent wide receiver believes that Taylor is accusing him of sexual assault in hopes to be rewarded money.
At the same time, Brown's lawyer seems to share the same opinion of the case. In addition, Brown's lawyer appears to be attempting to bring awareness to the extortion of athletes.
Right now, there doesn't seem to be a verdict being made anytime soon in this case. Despite the lack of progress, Brown has always had the belief that his name will be cleared before the end of the regular season.
In the event that he is cleared, it remains to be seen if any teams in the playoff race will take a chance on Brown.
