The race to sign Jadeveon Clowney is beginning to heat up as the 2020 season inches closer. While teams try to convince him to sign with them, ESPN's Dianna Russini reports that Clowney could wait until after the weekend to sign with a team.
I’m told Clowney has been advised to wait for cut day to wrap up this weekend, as teams involved, including others, could possibly have extra money to pay the free agent. Either way, its Clowney’s call.

It has been reported that the New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans have ramped up their pursuit of Clowney in recent days. Besides the Saints and Titans, the Seattle Seahawks and the Jacksonville Jaguars are also keeping tabs on his situation.
Of course, he spent the 2019 season with Seattle and the Seahawks have always expressed interest in retaining him. However, they would only want to bring him back if it were for the right price.

In his lone season with the Seahawks, Clowney was hampered by a core muscle injury throughout the entire year. As a result, he tallied only three sacks and four forced fumbles. His three sacks in 2019 were the lowest total of his career for a season in which he played in more than four games.
Back in March, Jadeveon Clowney entered free agency with the idea that he'd become one of the highest-paid defensive players in the NFL. Seeing that he's still unsigned, that never came into fruition. Still, with teams clamoring for his services as the season nears, Clowney is willing to wait a bit longer in an attempt to get every penny he can.
