With the offseason in full swing, teams around the league are already gearing up to bounce back in the 2020 NFL season. It seems finding a new home will no longer be a concern for safety Mike Adams.

Adams announced his retirement from the NFL during an appearance on Good Morning Football:

Adams came into the league as an undrafted free agent out of Delaware before signing with the San Francisco 49ers prior to the 2004 campaign. He would go on to establish himself as a bonafide starter and play for five more teams throughout his 16-year career.

Despite doing his fair share of traveling as a player, Adams' best years came during his time with the Indianapolis Colts. He etched out an integral role for himself on defense and was named to two consecutive Pro Bowls for his efforts in 2014 and 2015. Unfortunately, changes were made to the coaching staff and it was only a matter of time before his days in Indianapolis were numbered.

After starting the 2019 NFL season watching from home, Adams was signed by the Houston Texans in an attempt to shore up some depth in the secondary with safety Justin Reid recovering from a shoulder injury. the veteran ultimately finished the year with three tackles in six games with the Texans.

Mike Adams will finish his NFL career with 930 tackles, 6 sacks, 13 forced fumbles, 16 fumble recoveries and 2 touchdowns. He can also take solace in the fact that he was able to perform on football's highest stage after recording six tackles during Super Bowl XLVIII.
