The NFL made a monumental change this week. Starting this season, teams will now be allowed to challenge pass interference calls and pass interference non-calls.
It didn't take long after the announcement for oddsmakers to find a way to bet on the new rule change. You can now place a wager on whether or not a pass interference call will be overturned in the 2019 opening game. The league announced earlier this week that the opening game will be between the Green Bay Packer and Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football.
Odds a pass interference call will be overturned in the first game (Packers at Bears) in Week 1:
Yes -150
No +120

The rule change came as a big surprise, since owners had previously seemed unwilling to make any major changes. But Saints coach Sean Payton banged the table for concessions, and got what he was looking for. The move was a direct response to the non-call at the end of the Saints/Rams NFC Championship Game that likely cost the Saints a trip to the Super Bowl.
One concern about the rule change is that it could lengthen games. Each coach doesn't usually use both of their allotted challenges, but that's likely to change with the new rules in place. The odds aren't overwhelming, but as of right now ‘yes' is a sizable favorite. If the oddsmakers are right, we can expect to see plenty of pass interference calls overturned in the inaugural season of the rule.
