Make no mistake: Rob Gronkowski has retired from the NFL and has no plans of coming back. However, he wants everyone to know that he's not really retired when it comes to this game called life.
Speaking to ESPN while doing a commercial, Gronkowski highlighted that while he's no longer playing American Football, he is still very much active when it comes to doing various engagements and work. The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers star doesn't really want to use the term “retired” since for him “when people start retiring, they start dying.”
“I’m not like really retired. It’s just from the game of football. … It’s not from life. …” Gronk shared.
That's pretty dip to be honest, but what Rob Gronkowski said makes sense. While it doesn't mean retired athletes or people in general should stay active instead of resting, Gronk's point is even those in their post-career stage should enjoy and find things they love to do.
That is exactly what Gronk is doing, and so far, retirement has been good for the former NFL tight end.
For what it's worth, some talks about Gronkowski possibly unretiring started recently after his girlfriend Camille Kostek said that she still feels her boyfriend would want to come back. She even added that Gronk and Tom Brady might just be having fun about this retiring and unretiring thing–referencing how both have already come out of their initial retirements to play again.
By the looks of it, though, Gronk seems pretty serious about not playing in the NFL again.
