Whenever there is a very highly-rated NFL prospect, sometimes one has to nitpick just to be able to say he has a weakness. This was the case when the presumed number one overall pick in the upcoming draft, Trevor Lawrence said that he does not have a huge chip on his shoulder.
This statement led some to have doubts about Lawrence, which Lawrence responded to on his Twitter.
It seems as if people are misreading my sentiment.
I am internally motivated – I love football as much or more than anyone. It is a HUGE priority in my life, obviously. I am driven to be the best I can be, and to maximize my potential. And to WIN. (1/3)

Trevor Lawrence said all the right things to allay concerns and it is nice to see that he has a sense of humor as he jokingly referred to his statements, like a TED talk.
Article Continues BelowTraditionally, scouts, analysts, and front offices take note when a prospect makes comments that can be classified as not loving the game of football enough or not having the right attitude.
In instances that these statements are true, issues arise when these prospects struggle in the grind of an NFL season. These players were so used to dominating competition wherever they went, that they do not have what it takes to put in the work and improve their play at the professional level.
The best example of this was quarterback JaMarcus Russell in the 2007 draft. Like Lawrence, he received high marks and played at a major football program. He was thought of as someone who could turn a franchise around. He could shred defenses with his running and had a cannon for an arm. Russell went first overall and was gone after three seasons. He could not even do the little things like watching game film.
