There aren't many teams remaining that are looking for a starting quarterback, leaving Jameis Winston in an unfamiliar spot in his career. According to Bleacher Report's Matt Miller, Winston is still a free agent because he isn't viewed as a starting quarterback in the NFL.

Just this past season, Winston finished with a career-high 5,109 yards and 33 touchdowns. However, at the same time, the former No. 1 pick also threw 30 interceptions in 2019.

The Florida State product actually became the first quarterback in NFL history to have 30 touchdowns and 30 interceptions in the same season. Despite his turnover woes, Winston has proven that he has the talent to be a starting quarterback.

So far this offseason, there's been a few teams to make a change at quarterback. Winston's former team, the Buccaneers, signed Tom Brady to replace him next season.

On the other hand, the Carolina Panthers and Indianapolis Colts will have new faces under center in 2020. While the Los Angeles Chargers need to replace Philip Rivers, they don't seem interested in doing so through free agency.

Taking that into consideration, the former Bucs QB may be stuck accepting a backup role in 2020. If Winston is willing to sit for a season behind a proven veteran, there could be a few teams to take a chance on him.

One team that has been discussed as a possible opportunity for Winston is the Pittsburgh Steelers. With Ben Roethlisberger returning from injury, Winston could provide the Steelers a viable backup next season.

Above all, the 26-year-old could benefit from spending a year under Roethlisberger and Mike Tomlin. If Winston wants to start again in the NFL, he might have to swallow his pride and become a backup in 2020.
