There has been a lot of chatter about whether or not the Washington Redskins should go to Dwayne Haskins at quarterback after a miserable 31-15 loss to the Chicago Bears on Monday night put the team in an 0-3 hole.
Well, now, they might have another reason.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Case Keenum did not practice on Wednesday due to a foot injury. Kareem Copeland of The Washington Post adds that Keenum is in a walking boot, but he is expected to be ready for the Redskins' game against the New York Giants on Sunday.
Ironically enough, the Giants are starting Daniel Jones, whom they chose ahead of Haskins in the draft back in April.
Article Continues BelowWhether or not the Redskins choose to switch to Haskins remains to be seen, but if they do, it would certainly be one of the more intriguing early-season matchups even though the teams themselves are not very good.
Still, it's looking like Washington is going to stick with Keenum for now.
In spite of his poor outing on Monday in which he threw three interceptions, Keenum has actually been impressive on the season as a whole, as he has thrown for 933 yards, seven touchdowns and those three picks while completing 69.4 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 100.
Haskins is obviously viewed as the Redskins' quarterback of the future, but given that Washington has very limited weapons offensively, the franchise is understandably being very cautious with when it decides to insert Haskins into the lineup.
