The Washington Redskins have put an emphasis on shoring up the supporting cast for quarterback Dwayne Haskins. It seems he is admittedly impressed with the haul the new staff brought in this offseason.

Washington used two of their first four picks to add some potential firepower to the offense in running back Antonio Gibson and wide receiver Antonio Gandy-Golden. According to Peter Hailey NBC Sports Washington, Haskins is looking forward to getting acquainted with his new teammates:

“I’m excited about the additions,” Haskins said. “When [Antonio Gibson] said he was a playmaker, that got me fired up. He hit me up after the draft and he was trying to figure out any tips and things he can learn about the offense.”

Haskins is coming off a rough rookie campaign in which he struggled to establish himself as a bonafide franchise quarterback. Of course, his struggles could be attributed to the overall dysfunction that had plagued the team at the time. Regardless, this did not prevent rumors from swirling about the team's interest in the other notable quarterbacks in the draft.

The Redskins have since ushered in some significant changes to both their roster and coaching staff. Fortunately, they still made sure to keep some of their more integral pieces around for the 2020 NFL season in wide receiver Terry McLaurin, running back Adrian Peterson, and wide receiver Steve Sims.

The onus will now fall on offensive coordinator Scott Turner and quarterbacks coach Ken Zampese to ensure that Haskins is making the necessary progression in his development to take full advantage of the weapons at his disposal with the Redskins.
