Washington Redskins offensive tackle Trent Williams has ended his holdout and has reported to the team following a trade deadline in which he stayed put, but that doesn't mean he is actually going to play.
According to JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington, Williams doesn't have any intention of playing a down this season.
Williams, whose current contract expires at the end of 2020, is looking for a new deal. He is making $10.9 million this year and is scheduled to earn $12.5 million next season.
The 31-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Oklahoma, was originally selected by the Redskins with the fourth overall pick of the 2010 NFL Draft.
He immediately won Washington's starting left tackle job during his rookie campaign and instantly became one of the best tackles in the league, making the Pro Bowl as soon as 2012.

Trade rumors swirled around Williams during the offseason, with the New England Patriots representing an interested party, but the Redskins opted to hold on to the Longview, Tx. native.
Of course, there is still plenty of time for Washington to come to terms with Williams, but given that the Redskins are a rebuilding team and he is a 31-year-old offensive lineman, it probably would have behooved them to trade him sometime between the offseason and the deadline.
Washington is just 1-7 on the season and fired Jay Gruden as head coach after an 0-5 start.
