Well, this is not ideal for the Green Bay Packers. The Packers made a big splash this season by trading for former Dallas Cowboys star and All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons. Parsons has been a driving force on their defense, helping lead the team to success. However, the star pass rusher suffered an injury during their game against the Denver Broncos.

Unfortuantely, it seems like the worst-case scenario has come true for the Packers. Adam Schefter reports that the initial concern with Parsons is that he suffered a torn ACL.

“The initial belief is that Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons suffered a torn ACL today, as @ProFootballTalk reported,” Schefter write on X. “There will be further testing to see if that is the case.”

Parsons suffered a knee injury while chasing Broncos quarterback Bo Nix. There was no contact on the play, the Packers' pass rusher suddenly screaming in agony while clutching his knee. Parsons was helped off the field and was ruled out.

If Parsons' season is truly over, he at least had a great first year with the Packers. The star pass rusher has 12.5 sacks this season, third-most in the NFL. He also has one forced fumble and has been the driving force behind the success of the Packers' defense. With his presence on the defensive line, opportunities have opened up for their other pass rushers to thrive.

To add insult to injury, the Packers lost to the Broncos 34-26. Nix threw four touchdowns on the day and Green Bay's offense couldn't keep up against Denver's vaunted defense. With that loss, the Packers have once again ceded control of the NFC North to the Chicago Bears. They have a rematch against Chicago again, a game that will most likely decide who will win the division and a home playoff game.
