The Green Bay Packers suffered a crushing loss in Week 15. Green Bay lost 34-26 against Denver in a game they really needed while competing for a playoff spot in the NFC. They also suffered a major injury that will sideline one of their biggest defensive stars for the rest of the season.
Packers edge rusher Micah Parsons' torn ACL was confirmed by an MRI on Monday, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz. His 2025 season is now officially over.
Parsons' injury comes as Green Bay is 9-4-1 and competing with Chicago for the NFC North title. The addition of Parsons changed the trajectory of the Packers and had fans thinking Super Bowl.
Green Bay got their money's worth out of Parsons in 2025. He finishes the regular season with 19 solo tackles, 12.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. Parsons looked better than ever, which makes his injury all the more difficult to accept.
The star edge rusher posted on social media shortly after the news broke.
“I may be sidelined, but I am not defeated. This injury is my greatest test—a moment God allowed to strengthen my testimony,” Parsons said. “I believe He walks with me through this storm and chose me for this fight because He knew my heart could carry it. I’m deeply grateful to the Packers organization and my teammates for their unwavering support, love, and belief in me during this season. I trust His timing, His plan, and His purpose. I will rise again.”
Now Parsons will need surgery on his knee before he can start attacking his rehab process.
The Packers can expect Parsons to make his return during the 2026 season. But it is unlikely that he will be ready during the early weeks of the regular season.
But the Packers cannot wallow too much after getting Parsons' depressing injury news. They are still in the NFC playoff hunt and need to move on to their next opponent.
Next up for Green Bay is a Week 16 matchup against Chicago on Saturday night.
