On Monday, the Green Bay Packers decided to hire former Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur as their new head coach.
He brings a more modern offensive philosophy and will help utilize the Packers strength on that side of the ball.
Former NFL cornerback turned TV personality DeAngelo Hall believes that the Packers made the right decision by bringing in LaFleur.
"Matt LaFleur is smart. He's been around Kyle Shanahan; he's been around Sean McVay. … He will bring innovation to that Packers offense. It won't be stale like they were used to doing, and I think ultimately Aaron Rodgers and him will work very well together." — @DeAngeloHall23 pic.twitter.com/3kkL0SBV9b

LaFleur is a very respected across coach across the entire league. He helped Marcus Marriota transition to the NFL with ease.
His spread offense, a lot like Chip Kelly's revolutionary offense he brought to the Philadelphia Eagles, then to the Kansas City Chiefs, was the same offense he ran in college.
For Aaron Rodgers, this finally allows him to have a fresh coach. He was under head coach Mike McCarthy ever since his rookie year, and their relationship began to sour over the past few years. He would audible out of the offense McCarthy called constantly.
It also allows the Packers to have a more efficient offense. Rodgers can throw to tight end Jimmy Graham, wide receiver Davante Adams, and running back Aaron Jones.
The team has a host of offensive weapons to utilize. With such a great quarterback like Rodgers under center, LaFleur will be able to maximize the scheme's playbook.
It also gives Rodgers a chance to scramble and freelance less. His body is getting older and he's more susceptible to injury.
Playing in a more West Coast style offense will help keep him fresh and less injury-prone moving forward.
