Fortunately for the Philadelphia Eagles, Carson Wentz appears to be progressing nicely in his recovery. The young quarterback will have “no limitations for on-field drills during OTAs,” which kick off on Tuesday, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Wentz had a back injury that caused him to miss the end of the 2018 season and the playoffs, but he appears to be over it. Even though he'll apparently have no limitations, Rapoport does say the team might not throw too much at him right away.

“The team will be smart with him, of course, but he’s expected to be involved in the majority of all work,” he writes.

Wentz's back injury was concerning because he had back issues in college, and it contributed to the perception that Wentz was injury prone.

Wentz, of course, tore his ACL and LCL toward the end of the 2017 season and missed the team's Super Bowl run. As a result of his injuries, Wentz has never appeared in a playoff game.

Nick Foles filled in for Wentz during both of his significant injuries, but he's gone now, having signed a big deal with Jacksonville. The Eagles don't have the safety blanket of Foles anymore, so they absolutely need Wentz to stay healthy.

Calling Wentz injury prone is probably a bit unfair, but he does have a troubling history. It's quite possible that the Eagles use less rollouts and keep him in the pocket more next season in an attempt to keep him upright. Wentz has rejected any changes to his style of play in the past, but he may be forced to adapt.

Either way, it's good to see that his back issue is no longer bothering him.
