Philadelphia Eagles quarterback is a competitor but after suffering injuries each of the last two seasons, he is learning to balance that competitiveness with staying healthy. Wentz has always been one to take extra reps and not take days off, but he knows staying healthy is most important, which is a learning curve for him.

“As a competitor, you want to take every rep, you want to do this, you want to do that,” Wentz said Tuesday via NBC Sports. “But at the same time you just stay the course. I feel very confident where I’m at and I feel like I’ve learned a lot through these (injuries) to not be my worst enemy and listen to advice along the way.”

Wentz says it's something he learned at a young age and coming from North Dakota State he has always had a chip on his shoulder which has made him feel like he needs to work harder.

“It’s just kind of how I was wired and everything, being from North Dakota, smaller school and all those things,” he said. “You want to work, work, work and push, push, push, and there are just times where you just need to tone it down a little bit.”

Most importantly Wentz needs to make sure he moves that on the field during the regular season too. He needs to make sure he doesn't take unnecessary hits if he doesn't need too because this year there isn't the fallback plan if Wentz gets injured.
