The Philadelphia Eagles have reworked the contract of defensive lineman Chris Long, according to Field Yates of ESPN. The Eagles also restructured the deal of linebacker Nigel Bradham, which, in conjunction with Long's new deal, will open up $5.032 million in cap space for Philadelphia.
However, that is no guarantee that Long will return to play football next season.
Following Yates' Twitter post, a fan replied asking if that meant Long would be back for 2019, to which Long replied, “That doesn't meant that at all.”
Long then went on to add that he loves the city of Philadelphia, but that the move was a “football decision” and does not mean he will be back on the gridiron.
