The Philadelphia Eagles are shaking up their running back group. On Friday, the team announced that running back Corey Clement is moving to the injured reserve, according to Pro Football Talk. Subsequently, Boston Scott has been upgraded from the practice squad.
Clement has been nursing a shoulder injury. He appeared in four games for the Eagles through the first five weeks. In doing so, he received no offensive snaps, took three kickoff returns, and muffed his only punt return.
Before 2019, Clement found production with the Eagles. In 2017, he received 74 rush attempts for 321 yards and four touchdowns, while also hauling in 10 receptions for 123 yards and two touchdowns. The next year, he rushed the ball 68 times for 259 yards and two touchdowns, while also catching 22 passes for 192 yards.
Clement will be on the injured reserve for at least eight weeks.

He spent his rookie year with their practice squad before the Eagles poached him to add him to the 53-man roster. In doing so, he received four kickoff returns for 96 yards in two games.
In addition to Clement's placement on injured reserve, fellow running back Darren Sproles has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings with a quad injury.
With Clement on the injured reserve, Sproles out, and Scott on the roster, the Eagles will have three running backs on the roster on Sunday. They will have Jordan Howard, Miles Sanders, and Scott when they face the 3-2 Vikings.
