With the biggest game of his head coaching career fast approaching, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson probably wants to see the best out of his guys in practice. He didn’t see anything close to that in the second half of Wednesday’s practice, but Thursday’s was much better.
“Had a heck of a practice today,” Pederson said Thursday, via the pool report (Charean Williams of PFT). “Guys were flying around. Definitely picked it up. We had three days off before we got on the field [Wednesday], so this is what typically we would see in practice.”

During Wednesday’s practice, Pederson tried to give the team more of a feel of what one aspect of Sunday’s game is going to be like. He split practice in two with a 30-minute “halftime” break. However, the team didn’t respond how he wanted. The second half didn't go well. Pederson categorized it as “sloppy.”

Defensive end Vinny Curry had to be examined by trainers briefly at the end of practice after getting a few fingers caught in someone’s facemask during a drill. Pederson told reporters he was fine.
In attendance at practice was former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike Holmgren. Pederson was the backup to Brett Favre back when Holmgren led the Packers to victory in Super Bowl 31. Holmgren will be working the commentary on Westwood One radio during the game Sunday.
