The Philadelphia Eagles were knocked out of the playoffs in their Wild Card Weekend loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, the loss was bittersweet for free safety Anthony Harris, who had other plans, CBS Philadelphia reported.
Holly Soape, a mother in Texas, asked Harris if he would escort her daughter to an upcoming daddy-daughter dance. Her daughter, 11-year-old Audrey Soape, is suffering the loss of her grandfather and her father. Both men passed away in the past year.
Audrey is a huge fan of the Eagles' safety, so her mother contacted Harris about six weeks before the dance. Originally, Harris was unsure if he could make it because the Eagles were making a playoff run. However, they were eliminated in the first round on January 16, roughly two weeks before the dance, giving Harris enough time to make the trip to Texas.
Not only did Harris attend the dance, but he paid for Soape's dress, shoes, and makeup. Soape and her mother described the “fairytale” experience, quotes courtesy of their interview with CBS Philadelphia.

“All of it was just a fairy tale and amazing,” Holly said. “He kept her laughing, he kept her dancing on the dance floor, they ran around the church doing a scavenger hunt, just playing games, really made the whole night just really incredible for her, because you could tell she was very nervous to start with. But she warmed up right away, he made it great for her.”
Harris and the Eagles didn't make it very far in the playoffs this year, but there's no doubt that Soape was perfectly fine with that.
