The Philadelphia Eagles scored a ton of points against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. A relatively shocking thing, as Denver has one of the better defenses in the entire National Football League. Though, to be fair, it appears the Eagles do have one of the best offenses.

In terms of points scored, Philly hung 51 on Denver. That is impressive. So impressive, in fact, it resulted in a malfunction of sports. As the headline suggests, the Eagles scored so many points the people behind the scenes ran out of celebratory fireworks.

“Apologies, we actually ran out of fireworks,” the team posted on Twitter.

The Eagles have scored an NFL-high 32 touchdowns and 283 points this season. Quarterback Carson Wentz is setting franchise records in the process.

Through nine games this season, Wentz has done something no Eagles quarterbacks has ever done. He has thrown 23 touchdown passes.

Due to all the facts now at our ready, maybe the National Football League franchise should do some heavy investing in fireworks. After all, there doesn't seem to be anything that can slow down its offense.

Philadelphia, now heading into its bye-week, is 8-1 on the season and appears to have a stranglehold on the NFC East. If we are being honest, the team is no longer playing just to make the playoffs, but to be a legitimate threat to reach the Super Bowl this season.

Not too shabby for a team with a quarterback in only his second season playing pro football. Then again, that gunslinger is having an MVP caliber season.
