Chicago Bears kicker Cody Parkey is public enemy No. 1 in the Windy City on Monday after missing a 43-yard field goal that would have won the game against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card Round on Sunday evening.
Or did he miss it?

Replays showed that Eagles defensive tackle Treyvon Hester got a hand on Parkey's attempt, which resulted in the kick changing directions to the point where it ricocheted off of the upright and then bounced off of the crossbar before falling back on to the field, preserving a 16-15 Eagles victory.
Afterward, Hester indeed took credit for the miss:

Felt good … [but] actually, I thought I didn’t get enough of it, I thought it was going to go in. When I saw it going in, I turned back around [away from the goal posts]. Then I heard everybody screaming, I was like, oh, [bleep] … he missed it.”
Prior to Sunday night, Hester was not exactly a player you would remember on the Eagles. He played in 12 games this season, registering 13 tackles and a sack.
The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Toledo, was originally selected by the Oakland Raiders in the seventh round (244th pick overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft.
He played one year with the Raiders before being cut this past September. He then ended up on the Eagles' practice squad and was promoted to the active roster in October.
