The NFC East has long been considered one of the most elite divisions in football. However, that has changed drastically in the 2018 NFL season.

It is no secret that the division has struggled thus far this year. According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the NFC East has been the worst in football:

Eagles at Giants tonight, and it should be noted: No team in the NFC East is currently above .500, all four teams have a negative point differential, and their combined win percentage (.368) is the worst of any division this season.

Needless to say, this is quite the reversal of fortune in the division. They are coming off consecutive years in which one of their teams finished as the top seed in the entire conference. However, it appears their streak may be coming to an end.

Every team has endured its fair share of struggles this season. However, the slow starts by the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys may have been the most surprising. The Eagles have shown serious signs of a Super Bowl hangover. Of course, it did not help that quarterback Carson Wentz missed the first two games of the year. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have been nothing short of abysmal on offense. Their once promising quarterback Dak Prescott hardly looks the part of a franchise player and it appears as though they have started to reach a boiling point.

The New York Giants managed to capture headlines despite their disastrous start to the year. fortunately, they finally managed to secure They have now dropped two straight after securing their first win of the season. Finally, there are the Washington Redskins. It is safe to assume that very few predicted that Washington would be sitting atop the NFC East going into Week 6. However, they are currently dealing with a bit of a crisis after being dismantled on primetime television by the New Orleans Saints. The fact that they had the bye week to help prepare and were still dominated does not inspire any hope moving forward.
