The New York Jets are considered one of the potential destinations for disgruntled Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown, but Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan told reporters that the team has not “ventured too far” in trade talks for the star, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN NFL Nation.

Of course, Maccagnan is not going to show his hand, so we don't really know just how deep the Jets have gone into discussions with the Steelers about obtaining Brown, but every potential suitor is likely approaching this situation with caution.

As productive as Brown is on the field, his off-the-field issues are well-documented.

The whole reason why Brown seems to be done in Pittsburgh is because of an incident that occurred in the week leading up to the season finale, where Brown got into a heated dispute with Ben Roethlisberger that apparently ended in Brown throwing a football at the quarterback. Brown then refused to practice, complained of knee pain but refused to go for an MRI and then went AWOL on the team before ultimately being benched by head coach Mike Tomlin for the Steelers' Week 17 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

On the season, Brown hauled in 104 receptions for 1,297 yards and a league-leading 15 touchdowns en route to his sixth straight Pro Bowl appearance.

The 30-year-old wide out has made seven trips to Honolulu overall and has also earned four First-Team All-Pro selections.

Brown, who played his collegiate football at Central Michigan, was originally selected by the Steelers in the sixth round (195th pick overall) of the 2010 NFL Draft.
