Barring an unforeseen change in circumstances, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown will be on the move this offseason, as his time with the Steelers has run out.
But just what type of team is Brown hoping to be traded to?
He explained what he wants during his interview with ESPN's Jeff Darlington:
“To be able to play with a team that’s motivated, young, hungry, exciting, that would be the ultimate,” said Brown. “Just want to be in the right situation and the right environment to do something special. That would be the ultimate.”
The Oakland Raiders seem to be the frontrunners to land Brown at the moment, which makes sense given the fact that they have three first-round draft picks at their disposal to offer the Steelers in trade talks.
The Raiders are also in desperate need of a deep threat, and Brown would certainly fit that bill.
Article Continues BelowBrown is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he hauled in 104 receptions for 1,297 yards and a league-leading 15 touchdowns, en route to his sixth straight Pro Bowl appearance.
Of course, it isn't Brown's on-field production that is in question: it is his volatile locker room presence.
The 30-year-old ended his nine-year tenure in Pittsburgh on as poor of a note as you can imagine, as he got into a heated dispute with Ben Roethlisberger in the week leading up to the season finale.
He then refused to practice, complained of knee pain but refused to go for an MRI and then went AWOL on the team before being consequently benched by head coach Mike Tomlin for the Steelers' Week 17 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.
