Earlier this week, the Pittsburgh Steelers saw star wide receiver Antonio Brown return to the practice field for the first time in over a week that has put him on pace to play in the season opener against the Cleveland Browns.
Head coach Mike Tomlin further confirmed that notion by stating that he expects Brown to be able to go without any limitations on the field, according to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

This should clear up any lingering questions about Brown's status for the game as he will be heavily featured in the passing game in Week 1 as the top target for Pro Bowl quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. It should also erase any concern that he is dealing with any persistent issues from a quad strain that occurred in training camp and limited his availability in practice and preseason altogether.
Article Continues BelowBrown is coming off another highly productive campaign where he recorded 101 catches for a league-best 1,533 receiving yards despite missing the final two games of the regular season due to injury. He has a chance to become the first player to post six straight seasons with 100 catches for 1,200 receiving yards.
What could bode well is that Brown had much success in the season opener last year against the Browns where he caught all 11 targets for 182 receiving yards. There should be the level of involvement in the passing game given his previous success against Cleveland that could lead to yet another huge performance from the All-Pro wideout.
Brown has proven that is arguably the best wide receiver in the league behind his consistent elite production that played a major part in the Steelers' continued success on the field since he entered the NFL. Week 1 should mark the beginning of yet another huge season for him to further cement his status in the league.
