The Pittsburgh Steelers' struggles on offense have been well documented. While historically known for their defense, the Steelers have fielded some of the NFL's best offenses with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger under center, though this year's unit has fallen well short of the likes of those. With a Week 16 clash against Patrick Mahomes and the high-scoring Kansas City Chiefs coming up, Roethlisberger gave an honest admission on the team's offense.
“I don’t think you measure anything except for the win/loss.” Roethlisberger said. “I mean, you could sit there and say you did this, that, and the other. At the end of the day, yeah, you’d love to put up 9,000 yards of offense in a game, but it doesn’t matter if you don’t win the game. So, we’ve had unbelievable offensive games where we’ve lost and really bad offensive days where we won. At the end of the day, we’ll take the win and so that’s what you have to measure success on in my opinion.”

This is an honest admission from Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger on his offense ahead of a battle with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, who have put up 48 and 34 points in their last two games, respectively.
Roethlisberger knows that it would be nice for the Steelers to go out there and put up 35 points and 500 yards in a point-for-point shootout with Mahomes and the Chiefs, but none of those theatrics and efforts would matter if Pittsburgh lost.
Which, in fact, did happen when these two teams last met in 2018. The Chiefs won 42-37, with Mahomes firing six touchdown passes and over 300 yards of passing, and Roethlisberger matching him throw-for-throw with 452 yards, three passing touchdowns and rushing score for the Steelers.
Don't expect that to happen again on Sunday, as Roethlisberger has just three games this season with over 250 yards and two-plus touchdowns. The Steelers' best chance to win against the Chiefs is if the Pittsburgh defense steps up and limits Mahomes and Kansas City's offense.
And Ben Roethlisberger knows it.
