After a season-ending injury in 2016, Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cameron Heyward has increased his level of play since then and never looked back. However, his peers think otherwise as he is still listed at a lowly 84th spot in the top 100 players list.

The former Ohio State Buckeye then expressed his frustrations on Twitter:

During his amateur career, Heyward had an outstanding run with the Buckeyes. He was a 2007 Consensus All-American, a first-team Big Ten member, and a Rose Bowl champion in 2010. After his tenure, he was projected by many to be a first-round prospect, which he did become.

Heyward was drafted by the Steelers with the 31st pick in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Through nine seasons with the team, he became a two-time first-team All-Pro and a three-time Pro Bowler.  He also contributed 51 solo tackles, nine sacks, and one forced fumble for the Steelers last season.

The big man is heading into the final season of his current contract. He could be up for a big payday if he continues to elevate his level of play in the coming season.

Heyward remains to be a big part of the Steelers defensive core along with rising star safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. With Ben Roethlisberger back at the helm, the team is looking to improve on their 8-8 record and eventually pose a threat to the division-leading Baltimore Ravens.

The upcoming 2020 season will begin for the Steelers as they visit the rebuilding New York Giants on September 14 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
