Pittsburgh Steelers fullback Derek Watt sustained a Grade 2 hamstring pull in their Week 3 encounter against the Houston Texans. He left the game early and is confirmed to be sidelined for a couple of games.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported the developments on Twitter:

It was another big game for the rolling Steelers led by veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger who tallied 237 passing yards on a 23/36 clip and two passing touchdowns. Tight end Eric Ebron recorded 52 receiving yards on 5 receptions along with a scored touchdown while wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster generated 43 receiving yards on 4 touches with a score on the endzone for the team.

Running back James Conner balled out with 109 rushing yards on 18 carries along with a rushing touchdown. The stifling Steelers defense held its ground once again, led by cornerback Mike Hilton who had 7 tackles and an interception in the game. Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick contributed 5 tackles while linebacker T.J. Watt had 4 tackles of his own.

Safety Terrell Edmunds, linebacker Devin Bush Jr., along with defensive end Stephon Tuitt and defensive tackle Cameron Heyward all prevented opposing quarterback Deshaun Watson from heating up and making plays under center.

The Texans were unable to score a single point in the second half of the game which allowed the Steelers to pull away with a 28-21 victory. They managed to preserve their win streak and has now improved to 3-0 in the early stages of the season.

Even with the absence of Watt, the Pittsburgh-based squad will look to carry the momentum as they match up with another undefeated team in the Tennessee Titans on October 4.
