The NFL preseason is here! But first, there has been a trade between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday evening.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Jaguars are sending Joe Schobert to the Steelers to don the black and gold.
The #Jaguars have agreed to trade veteran LB Joe Schobert to the #Steelers, source said.
First on the story: @meganschobert, who probably has pretty good sources herself.

Schobert signed with the Jaguars and– for some reason– they have decided to move on and send him to the Steelers, who suddenly add another talented piece to their dangerous defensive group.
He is due a good amount of money, but he can still produce at a high level and this move makes a lot of sense for the Steelers as they don't want to waste away the final season of veteran quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

2021: $7M (guaranteed)
2022: $8.75M
2023: $10.25M
2024: $10.75MHe has $500K per year due via roster/workout bonuses as well. Would make sense if Jacksonville agreed to pay some of his salary this year.

The group that features TJ Watt now gets another boost, and the Steelers are trying hard to gain supremacy back in the talented AFC North division that also includes the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens.
Adding Joe Schobert to the group definitely helps, and the Steel City fans have to be feeling pretty good about this one. With the NFL season a few weeks away, and the preseason officially kicking off, there is a lot to like about this Steelers group heading into the 2021 season.
