The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to have an intriguing situation on their hands with the pending return of star running back Le'Veon Bell from his holdout next week.

This has put the bulk of the attention on the relationship between Bell and second-year running back James Conner, who has carried the primary share of the workload out of the backfield in his absence. With that in mind, Conner touched upon his relationship with the Pro Bowler during an interview with FS1's “First Things First” on Thursday morning. “Anytime I do something good on the field, I always come back to the locker room [to] a text from him saying ‘good game’ or ‘nice move right there,’” Conner said Thursday on FS1’s “First Things First.”

“Me and Le’Veon are super cool. He’s a great person. With him holding out people are going to call him selfish, but that’s not the case at all. It’s just business, and that’s my guy.”

There doesn't appear to be any issues between the two as Conner has a strong standing bond with him over his brief time in the league with the Steelers. These comments not only show that there are no issues between the two but also that he supports Bell's decision to hold out this season.

This should go a long way into reimplementing Bell back into the fold with him and Conner already having a good relationship on and off the field. There standing with one another will be the crux of helping this situation go over as smoothly as possible in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, the Steelers will continue to lean on Conner to lead the charge in their backfield as he has been off to a strong start as he ranks fifth with 403 rushing yards and second with seven rushing touchdowns along with 26 receptions for 257 receiving yards in the first six games played. This also includes three 100 rushing yard performances, which is a mark he has reached in each of the last two contests while recording four total touchdowns over that span.
