There hasn't been any clarity on Le'Veon Bell's contract situation with the Pittsburgh Steelers with no new long-term extension in place this offseason. In fact, he has remained away from the team due to his decision to not yet sign the franchise tag that the Steelers have designated on him for the second straight year.

However, he has taken the time to make a new rap song entitled “Target” with a not-subtle message for Pittsburgh regarding his contract situation. (h/t Joe Rutter of Triblive.com)

“So they put me on the tag, alright. Definitely not going to trip like I that bad guy. Wonder why they treat me like the bad guy. You say I ain’t the best, but that’s a bad lie. I’m a do what I want just leave me alone. If I don’t do what you want then you want me gone. I’m a say you being real aggressive, the way you switch up on me real impressive.

Bell has made it quite clear throughout the process that he is eyeing a new long-term deal that would make him the highest-paid player at his position with an annual salary that rivals teammate Antonio Brown's current $17.0 million that he's on the docket for in 2018. The Steelers haven't budged toward that number in the last several weeks since designated the $14.5 million franchise tag on the 26-year-old.

He has certainly made a strong case to earn a new lucrative deal as he has established himself as arguably the best running back in the league over the last few years. He is coming off another campaign he finished third in the league with 1,291 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns and a career-best 85 catches for 655 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

His 85 receptions are the most by a running back in a single season in team history. Meanwhile, his 1,946 total scrimmage yards were second in the NFL and the third most in a single season in franchise history.

Ultimately, what Bell's latest comments do add another wrinkle to the situation that could become intense over the next several weeks with the July 16 deadline for an extension quickly approaching.
